Abigail Owusu- Ansah Salami

BSW, MSW, RSW

I am a Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist whose passion is to work collaboratively with those seeking positive change to behaviours that restrict them, negatively impact their daily living, and reduce their quality of life. I use a holistic approach to achieve positive outcomes by assisting clients in understanding how their relationships and physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health impacts their overall well-being. I provide a non-judgmental, empathetic, and supportive environment to clients as they explore their options and learn new coping skills to manage obstacles on their own.

I provide Brief and Long-Term Psychotherapy. The foundation of my practice is client-centred, anti-oppressive, and trauma-focused. Due to significant experience in the Child Welfare System and Ontario Youth Justice System, I also consult on Children’s Aid Society matters and youth at risk or involved with the justice system.

Letting go of your vulnerability is a difficult decision to make; however, taking that courageous first step, having hope, faith, and patience can be the pathway to healing, becoming resilient to future obstacles, and forgiving of yourself and others. Therapy can help heal from past and current trauma by offering problem-solving skills and support.
